Borgen has three sons, Mikkel, a kind-hearted boy whose wife, Inger, is pregnant, Johannes, who believes he is the Messiah, and Anders, a young man in love with the tailor's daughter. In Borgen's view, the fundamentalist father's beliefs are considered blasphemy.
